Our Toddlers daily schedule offers independent exploration and small group interactions as well as making time for active play and quiet time. Toddlers are in a developmental stage called "Autonomy". In understanding this stage our teachers offer a wide variety of opportunities for Toddlers to have positive social interactions while establishing their independent identity. Toddlers begin to gain awareness of others and a sense of group identity.
Toilet training is an important milestone at this age. We want your child to be as successful as possible. The children will be encouraged to try to use the potty every 2 hours. The teachers offer positive reinforcement through stickers and stamps which helps the children feel a sense of accomplishment. This is a milestone that cannot be forced and must be a combined effort of both the caregivers and the parents.
Our Toddlers are between the ages of 2.4 and 3 years old. Our ratio at this age is 1:7 (state ratio is 1:10) while keeping the class size to a maximum of 16 children. The "Toddler Tattler" will describe the day's events as well as a detailed outline of each child's use of the potty.
